Delivery of DV files on a hard drive

NOTE: These are not MPEG files for DVD use.
These are standard .AVI files in the DV codec.

All files will be scanned frame by frame in full 1080p in the Motion JPEG-HD codec and then downconverted to standard defintion in the DV codec. This codec should be compatible with most contemporary SD edit systems that can handle AVI based editing. Some NLE platforms such as Final Cut Pro or Media 100 have a proprietary codec and may need to transcode these files to QuickTime before they will play properly on your timeline.

If you are in doubt, click HERE for a free test transfer.

There will be no color correction applied to these files.
Though the color should be fairly representative of the original film, you may
need to attenuate the color, gamma, contrast and brightness using your own NLE system.

All hard drives should be USB-2, formatted NTFS and empty.
We will not transfer to a drive that has any type of file on it, no exceptions.

Please, please do NOT have a new, untested hard drive shipped directly to us from the manufacturer.
If we receive such a drive, it will be returned to you, unopened.

DV files are fairly small but it is recommended to send a
minimum 200 gig drive for your DV files if you a lot of film.

Don't forget to include your power supply with the hard drive!

As an alternative, we can also return small
files on a large flashcard that you provide.
(4 gig limit due to FAT32)
